highway banner
Arts community highway banner is ready!Exciting news: The highway banner, designed by Visuals President Toby Jaxon, in consultation with you, is complete and is ready for use by Arts organizations in the Squamish area. Many, many thanks to Toby for making the Arts highway banner dream a reality for all of us! Thanks also go to those of you who contributed to the collaborative e-dialogue, to writing and assisting with the mechanics of the grant proposal, and to the Squamish Community Foundation who has provided the means to accomplish this goal through the Leeds Grant 2006. To use the banner for your event: 1) SAC will coordinate getting it up and down. Please contact Sonja Lebans slebans@shaw.ca with: - the name of the event, - a contact name and number, and - the dates the events is on for. 2) Each group will be responsible for contacting the Adventure Centre with details what/where/when. Please send your information to both email addresses below to ensure coverage: Kim Hood, superviser for Visitor Centre staff 604- 815-4992 kim@squamishchamber.com Direct line to info desk 604-815-4994 information@squamishchamber.com 3) As well, we have a smaller banner which can be hung or staked at the site of the event. Each group to coordinate picking that that banner up from Sonja on a first come basis, and is responsible to return it immediately after use. That banner did not come with ropes or poles, although it has grommets. Special notes: 1) As it is time intensive for the Operations to put it up, and there can be competition for the 2 spaces available, Operations requests that we submit requests 7-10 days in advance of the event, and that the banner hang for a week. 2) If the event is on a weekend, they recommend we hang it from the Monday before to the Monday following the event. Many Arts groups can then take advantage of the banner being up at the same time by letting the Adventure Centre know details in advance. |
